What is Mil-DTL-45204?
Gold is one of the most versatile finishes in the entire metal finishing industry. One of the most common specs for gold plating is Mil-DTL-45204. The spec supersedes the previous Mil-G-45204 spec and is the current specification sheet for all military gold plating jobs.
The spec includes three types (I, II, and III), four grades (A, B, C, D), and 8 classes (00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6). Mil-DTL-45204 also includes the intended relationships (or combinations of) grades and types. All these elements make it so our team can quickly determine what thickness, process, and hardness are expected from a respective purchase order.
